Cedar Point Announces Skyscraper

Cedar Point just announced the addition of Skyscraper to their Challenge Park area for the 2008 season.

The thrill ride, created by Gravity Works, first opened at Dorney Park (2000-2004), then was moved to Valleyfair! (2005-2007), and now will set up shop at the Point as a pay-extra ride.

This was no secret at all, but it's nice that the park made an official release to try to drum up some attention. Every little bit helps these days, I guess.

Here's the press release and the official blog about it.

Wow, I think the most interesting part about the press release is the quote from Bill Spehn. Bill was the former VP of Operations for Cedar Point before he moved to Geauga Lake as the vice president and general manager. Now he's back to his old spot at Cedar Point? Who's at WWK?

I noticed that Bill was quoted right away as well ... I have a feeling that Wildwater Kingdom will be operated like the Soak City water parks in California, i.e. the upper management at Knott's is responsible for those water parks. The folks at Cedar Point will probably be in charge of Wildwater Kingdom.
